THE GOODNESS OF HONEY

The benefits of honey after being included in the daily diet go beyond its sweet taste. Apart from acting as a natural sweetener, it has many qualities which are very beneficial for living a healthy life. It is popular as a natural source of adrenaline and reducing muscle fatigue.

Being high in carbohydrates, honey is not harmful when combined with other food items. It is recommended to drink honey with a glass of lukewarm water on an empty stomach to regulate good metabolism and facilitate fat disintegration.

Below mentioned are some benefits of honey and the effect it has on the body:

1.Skin saving properties:- Honey in its raw form is incredible for the skin due to its anti-bacterial properties. One can obtain natural glow using raw honey as a face mask and also get rid of pimples and acne by applying honey on the spots overnight and washing it off next morning. The effect that honey has when used during a bath, on the body, is better than any moisturizer applied repeatedly. Replacing soap with honey once or twice in a week, especially during winters, will leave the skin glowing, smooth and hydrated.

2.Hair Care:- Without increasing hair fall or causing any sort of negative effects on the quantity of hair, raw honey adds shine and luster to the hair. The enzymes and nutrients present in the honey smooth out the ends of the hair and provide them with natural sparkle. Mix honey with twice the amount of coconut oil and apply thoroughly to the ends of the hair like a conditioner. Leave it for 10-15 mins and then rinse off with cool water.

3.Lip Care:- to treat chapped and dry lips on a winter morning, one uses a lip balm. But these lip balms are loaded with harsh chemicals and ingredients which may not be friendly in nature with all skin types. Honey can act as a pleasing natural substitute to attain soft and hydrated lips.

There are two ways to use honey on dry lips:-

A) Apply honey in its raw form on the lips at night and leave it overnight. You will wake up to soft, supple and smooth lips.
B) Mix one tablespoon of honey with some brown sugar and Vaseline. Create a scrub type mixture and rub softly on your lips with your fingertips. One needs to be very gentle while scrubbing the lips as they are very sensitive. Leave the mixture for two minutes and then wash it off with lukewarm water. It is recommended to use this method at night and not more than two times in a week for best results.

4. Boost Immunity:- Organic honey is loaded with minerals, enzymes and vitamins which are capable of protecting the body from bacteria and viruses. Consuming one tablespoon of honey with warm water on an empty stomach helps to boost the immune system of the body along with increasing the metabolism. Illness like common cold, sore throats, coughs and flu symptoms can be avoided well and naturally when treated with honey.
