Body Pain – Types & Diseases

Body-achesBody ache, has become a very common problem today. Not only people suffer from it in old age, but it has become major issue in youngsters as well. Body ache is no longer only associated with hard labour work; youngsters working in offices, doing desk jobs are also suffering from it. In today’s lifestyle when body ache has emerged as a major issue, it is important to understand its types and various diseases, which are characterized by body pain. 

Types of body pain:

  • Neck pain
  • Back pain
  • Joint pain
  • Muscular pain

Various diseases associated with body pain:

Body pain in itself is a problem and more often than not a symptom of another disease as well. It is important to know the root cause of body ache in order to efficiently treat it.

  • Fibromyalgia: This disease is characterized by chronic muscular pain and fatigue. Swelling in hands and feet, migraine, anxiety, difficulty concentrating, jaw and facial tenderness, irritable bladder etc. are its symptoms.
  • Chronic fatigue syndrome: Complete body ache and tiredness.
  • Lyme disease: By biting of black tick one gets sick with Lyme disease. Fatigue, headache, acute muscular and body pain, joint pain, insomnia are its early symptoms.
  • Deficiency of Vitamin D: Modern day lifestyle doesn’t provide much opportunity for going out in sun. As a result the body becomes deficient in vitamin D. Vitamin D is essential for the absorption of calcium from food. Calcium is necessary for strengthening of bones and with deficiency of vitamin D; bones tend to become weak causing body ache. Fatigue, weakness, brittle bones, body pain are symptoms of body ache.
  • Iron deficiency: Iron deficiency in blood or anemia is another disease characterized by body ache and fatigue. Irritable behavior, weakness, muscular pain is its other symptoms.
  • Multiple Sclerosis: Weakness, muscular stiffness, body ache are its symptoms.
  • Osteoarthritis: In this type of arthritis joint fluids in body dries up, leading to friction between bones which causes bone damage and pain along with stiffness and swelling in joints.
